Colosseum Day, Rome

This was by far my favorite day.  We got up early to visit the Colosseum.  This was built 2000 years ago for the people of Rome to enjoy the “games”.  It was big enough to seat 15,000 people.  The first game of the day was all sorts of different animals (elephants, lions, tigers, panthers, etc) into the colosseum to see what would happen.  The lunch time “game” was the execution of a person who committed a crime (mainly murder).  The final game was the gladiators fighting each other or animals.  The tour guide said the movie, Gladiators was very accurate.  Romans are very proud of their history.  They were definitely very intelligent for their time but good Lord they were the world’s bullies.
